Chief’s Welcome

Dear Community Friends and Neighbors,

Welcome to the
Immokalee Fire Control District

I cannot remember a time when I did not want to be a firefighter. As a very young boy, I knew I wanted to be a fireman just like my father. As a young firefighter, I remember the thrill of sitting in the back of that truck, riding backward on my way to a fire or vehicle accident with running lights and sirens, busting through intersections and cars moving out of our way, and thinking to myself, ‘this is the greatest job on the planet!’
Over the years, that feeling has only grown!

Today, as your Fire Chief and District Manager , I am immensely proud to serve this community. My staff and I are honored to be given the responsibility of providing a safe and enjoyable environment for those that live, work, and visit Immokalee and Ave Maria.

We are an innovative and diversified fire department and, in addition to saving lives and property, we are actively involved in community fire safety and education, and continuing skills development.
Our Team is committed to providing our community with the highest quality of service. I hope the information you find here is helpful to you and your family, and our community businesses.

We welcome your feedback and any questions you may have about fire safety or the role of the Immokalee Fire District in our community.

Yours in Service,
Chief Michael Choate, CDM, CFO
Fire Chief & District Manager
